Google Wallet still offers old Amex card when adding a new card

I deleted an old Amex card from Google wallet a while ago, however when I want to add a new payment card my old Amex card is still shown as an option to add it.

I suspect I may have just deleted it from Wallet and not all google payment applications, I have looked at other google payments and cannot find any payment cards elsewhere.

Any idea how to permanently remove the Amex card from Wallet?
