Onestream tribulations.

I signed up for a cheap Contract with Onestream only to end up paying almost twice as much. I wont go into the painful details but they are a very tricky company seemingly designed to fleece money. I spent quite a lot of time trying to get it sorted and then got fed up with not being able to contact them or being lied to or not having questions about the bill answered when I did. In the end I just cancelled the DD.
I am not sure what will happen now but I was just annoyed at them taking whatever they liked out of my account every month.
Its a shame there is no kind of warning from MSE while they are offering their service, the same for Uswitch, they are obviously dodgy.
Its my own fault, I should have gone on Google reviews for an accurate representation it tells you everything you need to know.

You are aware this does not cancel the contract. It will leave you with a unpaid marker for each DD bounced on your credit history, with the resulting effect should you require credit etc & can lead to them taking you to court to claim the payments.

Yes, thanks for your comment. It was rather a rash decision. But I just couldn't face many hours on the phone to them, over the coming months and cant get through to them anyway, probably more lies and obfuscation and them taking my money anyway. I tried to cancel the contract in the first 2 weeks but they lied and told me it would be at the rate I signed up for and now I am tied in, they are charging  me a rate I cant afford.
At least this way, they might call me.

You need to be proactive in resolving this. Cancelling your direct debit was a bad idea as you will just rack up unpaid bills.

It's unlikely they will phone you but more likely you will just get numerous emails demanding payment and then correspondence from a debt collecting agency.

Start by emailing them asap so that you have a physical record of your correspondence. If they don't respond then get on the phone and get it sorted out one way or another. Whatever you do don't just ignore the situation you now find yourself in.

It’s hardly worth their while to sue you for a couple of hundred pounds. But you may need nerves of steel.

Have you moved your broadband yet? If not, you will probably find Onestream want to charge you some pretty ludicrous cancellation fees.

No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Thanks for the comments. I went on Trustpilot and left a one star review saying what happened. they have asked for my account number and I have provided it so I am waiting for a call but I will contact them by email and state my case and see what they say.
I will email Ofcom as well.
