Issue with Natwest banking app?

Has anyone else come acorss this? I've got a new phone and trying to login with the Natwest app, it aks me to enter the 10th character of my password which is a special character, yet the android keyboards (locked by the app) only allow ABC or 123 keyboards! I've reported to the app support email on Google play, but that bounces back and the support on their site are no help at all

Can you use your laptop or PC to log on the NatWest site and then change the password to one that does not use a special character?

Edit. My NatWest on line PIN and Password are alphanumeric only.  When I opened the account in March last year, no special character was required. It might be different now.

can you type the character into a notes app and hold down to paste it into the app?

Is this a new password that you are trying to set up? Natwest don't allow "special" (aka non-alphanumeric) characters in their online passwords. They are not even case-sensitive. This they laughably suggest is to keep your password "secure"

Password criteria

Your password must be between 6 and 20 characters, and have both letters and numbers. To keep your password secure, we don't allow:

• Hyphens, punctuation marks, or spaces
• 3 letters or numbers in ascending or descending order, for example hello123 or abc3susan
• The same character repeatedly, for example CCCCCCCC or 999999999
