Hi all, I fully appreciate that this will probably need to be dealt with slightly differently as it is an Irish practice, but if someone could help me on the first step so I can get the ball rolling, I would be very grateful.
My mum died in May 22, her solicitor's practice are executors, in Ireland, beneficiaries live in UK. Relatively straightforward will, split between 3 siblings, however, 2 are buying the 3rd out.
Fully appreciate that nothing will be happening at times, but when we asked for an update, we were advised that the solicitor dealing with it had left, fair enough, these things happen, but it would have been nice to have been advised that someone else was taking over. Things then moved on a bit, then silence again. Asked for an update in April, only to be told that the replacement solicitor would be returning from maternity leave mid May! Again, it would have been nice to have been advised.
She returned to work and things moved quickly, got the relevant paperwork signed & witnessed , twice, as they didn't tell us it needed to be notarised so we had independent witnesses sign. They eventually confirmed receipt of the signed paperwork and asked for the transfer of funds for the buyout. Duly transferred that on 27th June, asked for confirmation of receipt, none received. 16th July we received an email confirming that the funds were being transferred to sibling solicitor. Yesterday, a full 5 weeks after I transferred the funds to mum's solicitor, we discovered that they have still not been transferred. I sent an email expressing my anger and requesting confirmation by close of play yesterday that the funds had been transferred, or I would (I know highly unlikely to be successful!) be raising a charge for the interest I lost while they have been sitting on my money. Needless to say, a big fat silence.
I know that I will probably need to initially raise my complaint to the practice senior, but what is the best way to address the issue?
Sorry about being longwinded, but felt a bit of a timeline would help explain thing.

It would be best to complain in writing. Be factual in explaining what you think the firm did wrong, and help them understand what you would like them to do to make up for the problems.
Check to see if they have a complaints process on their website. If they do, follow their process. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0
