What credit card do i need to apply for

Options
I have a debt with a utility company that I racked up when we had a AGA. Bloody thing... Long story short. I want to pay off the debt using a 0% credit card as they have increased my monthly bill to £330 per month.
But I dont know which card I need to apply for e.g. balance transfer, money transfer or purchases.
Also when I bought the house we done some renovations before we moved in and I was told by the council so sort out the council tax when we moved in 3 months later so I also have a council tax debt I would like to pay off on the same card if possible.

Will utility co allow you to pay via CC, as that is the defining point.

BT card is only useful if you can pay the bill on a CC and then move it off.

MT card will give you the money in your account to pay a bill,

It likely won't count as a purchase to pay the bill though - check the terms

They may not accept a CC for the bill though so MT probably the best bet however they tend to be shorter (like 12 months) and a bit more expensive fee wise. Remember you also need to pay the balance off over the course over the interest free period

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

The council may not accept credit cards for council tax - I know my council doesn't.
    Debt Jan 2008: £45,566. *** June 2013: DEBT FREE! ***
Paid back just under £50,000 due to some interest added.

I would have thought the way forward with both debts is to set up an instalment arrangement. Otherwise you're just shuffling debt around
