Intelligent Finance Refusing to take my name off a joint plan

Quick overview is: joint mortgage plan started 2004 with current accounts and savings attached to offset the mortgage. Mortgage ended 2008, plan remained open until frozen during divorce in 2014. Never used since. Current accounts now closed as IF shut them down. One remaining savings account left open in the "plan" in ex's name. He refuses to sever the financial tie. IF says there has to be an active mortgage on the account for me to be able to take my name off the plan. Or, the plan needs closing (which we both have to agree to) and open another in just his name...is this bonkers or what? Now in the hands of the ombudsman. Any thoughts anyone?

The Bank cannot overide the legal terms and conditions. Your ex is the problem.0

Does the plan report as joint to the credit rating agencies, i.e. is there any sort of financial association between you and ex showing there?
It's not uncommon for institutions to require consent from both parties for closure, which is why such matters should be dealt with when settling financial arrangements at divorce, but if there's no active credit facility as such then I'd have thought they should cease reporting any linkage to the CRAs, in which case this shouldn't have any impact on you....0
