Mains cable in underground ducting
I have a mains cable outside in underground ducting (house to outside electrical plug). I am told regular twin and earth is not the best cable to be routed in underground trunking for reasons on moisture ingress. Could someone advise of the correct type of cable please?

SWA cable - It has a wire steel outer layer to protect it, and is designed for burial in the ground. It needs proper termination either end with the appropriate glands. The electrician doing the work should know how to do it.nxdmsandkaskdjaqd said:I have a mains cable outside in underground ducting (house to outside electrical plug). Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

is there a non armored option?

If it's buried then really it should be armoured (or MIMS if you want something extremely expensive).nxdmsandkaskdjaqd said:is there a non armored option?1 -
I have MICC cable, but as Risteard says, it's comparatively expensive. There's a reason most people use SWA.1
