Transport for London ULEZ Appeal - car wasn't in my ownership at the time

Please can anyone offer additional help...
Bought a new car on the 6th May in the evening, the previous owner is from New Zealand and travelling around that time so they drove the vehicle up to mine for me to test drive.
The previous owner was captured on camera driving on the North Circular at 09:40.
The new owner slip and DVLA records show the transfer of ownership on the 6th May.
Transport for London requested that I prove I wasn't the owner at the time of the violation, requesting the previous owner's full name and address and said to ask DVLA to provide this... for obvious data protection DVLA are unable to provide this information.
I have provided screenshots of the conversation between myself and the previous owner on Facebook marketplace which show a name and the information regarding the drive up/ETA to my address.
I have provided bank statements showing £1000 being withdrawn from two cards at a cash machine (time stamped at 7.35pm).
This has now gone to the appeal board.
I reached out to citizens advice for their help: told to resend all information to the appeal board to argue the case but also mentioned that I could pay the fine if I didn't want to carry on appealing!!

As we major on private parking tickets here, Free Traffic Legal Advice (FTLA) forum will be your best bet for council penalty charges. Register there but please note that a Hotmail address may not work - try using a throwaway Gmail account instead if you do have trouble registering, and post a new thread; here's your link:

Read the sticky 'Read this first before posting your case' as well as reading through some of the other threads there ahead of posting your own details, to get the hang of what information they need from you in your opening post - but as a minimum you will need to post redacted photos/scans of all correspondence you've received from the council (both sides, if appropriate), as they need to see all the small print.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
