Peugeot 308 Recall - Complaint?
My Peugeot 308 suddenly lost power whilst on the motorway, and a warning came on to stop the vehicle. This was obviously very dangerous, I was in the 3rd lane at the time.
Having taken it to the Peugeot garage it it turns out it is a design fault, the CAM belt degrades in to the oil. Other models have been recalled due to this fault. My car has not been recalled, despite having this same issue.
Are there any grounds for this to be a complaint, it was a dangerous situation and surely a concern for others who own this model, who are unaware of the fault.

The recall notice was dated 30th May 2023. Have you had your vehicle serviced at an authorised dealer since then?0

1.2 Puretech three-cylinder petrol?
How old? How many miles? When was the belt last changed?
The original design of belt was prone to delamination, hence last year's recall. But that design was superceded years ago (my mother's 2018 Cactus had the second design) - and all the first-design should have been replaced by now. The recommendation is six years or 60k miles, whichever comes first. The Cactus' belt was like new when it was done earlier this year. There's a third design now, which is all that should be going in.
Changing the belt isn't a big job. It's about 2.5-3hrs for a competent garage, including doing the water pump while it's accessible, and a service.
The recall itself merely measured the belt for width and visible delamination.0
