Universal credit waiting allocation of transition education has EHCP

Can anyone help, my teen age 18 has a EHCP however they have finished their level 3 at the local college,  but now wants to attend another college not go on to university or work, which would be unsuitable with their SEND needs. l The local authority has turned their choice down and we are now waiting to appeal through the tribunal. However what can I do about universal credit they would be entitled to stay on the parents claim due to ehcp however because they have not been officially excepted to the college we do not know if they still count as being in education whist we wait for decision. I also have heard if they make their own universal credit for LWCA and it does not get processed before they are excepted then money from their claim is lost. This is putting a financial strain on the household whist trying to get the right support for my teen with send needs.

You can include them as child on UC claim, but answer not in education or training. You won't receive benefit for them.

If they get accepted for full time college course, report change that they are in education and then you will receive benefit for them.
