Breach of Contract?
Options
I signed a contract with a car dealership on 10th April this year. the contract was that they were to supply me with a Motability Vehicle - an automatic, Skoda Kodiaq, se l executive (due to medical reasons) with the delivery date being from the 6th of July this year.
After nearly 3 months of waiting, just days before the perceived delivery date, i received a call saying that they were ever so sorry, but the car which i had 'ordered' was now unavailable as i should have selected one from 'stock' and basically asking would a smaller vehicle do? To this question, i replied not really, as the 7 seater was the size of vehicle that I required - that's why i ordered it in the first place, as well as being within my price range for the advance payment of £1515 (to be payed upon delivery).
With my answer in mind, they cancelled both the contract & the Motability 'earmark' so that i could search for and order a car with a different vendor.
Unfortunately, the only other vehicle which met my needs and was similar to the Kodiaq, was a VW Tiguan Allspace which will be costing me an extra £1200 on top of the £1515 bringing the total to £1907, also, with no standard stock available, the car has been ordered, but is getting built and has a 6-8 month delay to allow for this.
Do i have any grounds for compensation due to breach of contract by the car dealership? , as i'm now due to have knee surgery within the next 3 months and am effectively going to be unable to use my current vehicle due to it being manual.

Sadly not. if they can't supply one.
Best option would be to ring round other Skoda dealers & see if any have stock.Life in the slow lane0 -
Read the contract you signed. I'm pretty sure you'll find some clause covering non-availability of the ordered vehicle, so no breach of contract.1
