Wallbox EV Charger

I have a Wallbox charger that was fitted in August 2021. It has now stopped working and despite following all the advice and guidance given from Wallbox, it's still not working. Walllbox has now told me that the warranty starts on day of manufacture, not the day of purchase! For a product costing hundreds of pounds to stop working after less than three years is unacceptable! Are there any laws within consumer rights that state when a warranty starts please? Thanks.

Warranty is set by manufacture. So there are no rules that they even have to have one.

Your consumer rights would be against the installer.

Did you puchase the charger direct from Wallbox?

    Short answer - no!

If a manufacturer offers a warranty (they don't have to) then it is on whatever terms and conditions were being offered at the time.

Your statutory rights are against whoever you bought it from. If you can show that the fault was inherent then you may well have a claim against them. If you have had it three years and a reasonable life is six (??) then you might get either a repair or a 50% refund.
