LIDL / Parkingeye what's the deal?

Having never been to a LIDL in my life my little'un wanted a toy that supposedly they had cheap so off I went.
Drove in, parked, went inside and to be honest had a good wander about, it was a fair size and I was debating using them in the future etc but no where near home and out for the day so no point buying any food etc.
Found said toy and purchased at self check out for £4.99, got in car and left.
Six days later I get the Parkingeye charge notice detailing I was there for 43 minutes etc.
I don't have a receipt but it appears on my credit card as LIDL, the place, date but not the time.
Having never been to a LIDL are you supposed to 'check in', register your car somewhere or do I have a case to appeal?

Useful and I find no reference to my question "Having never been to a LIDL are you supposed to 'check in', register your car somewhere?0

It varies. Have you asked Lidl?Calzor_Suzay said:Useful and I find no reference to my question "Having never been to a LIDL are you supposed to 'check in', register your car somewhere?
Lidl's car parks are no different to anyone else's.
Which particular Lidl store did you visit?
When visiting a new car park it is always wise to read the signs when parking.2 -
There website states this, the store in question is miles away and they use a generic phone number not the local store. When I rang they just punted me off saying go to the store.0

If you showed us the signs onsite , we would all know
At my local Lidl, its free for customers for 90 minutes, no registering, ditto at Aldi1 -
But as you say, it is certainly useful to you because it tells you what Plan A is and how to word Plan B if Plan A hits a brick wall.Calzor_Suzay said:Useful and I find no reference to my question "Having never been to a LIDL are you supposed to 'check in', register your car somewhere?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

What three miles away?? Or a hundred and three miles away??Calzor_Suzay said:the store in question is miles away...1 -
It's a good hour and something drive, I was visiting friends with my son.KeithP said:

By the time I drove that there and back to try and find a manager or look at some signs it would probably be cheaper and more productive just to pay the £45 fine.
It was a simple, I bought something, I have a credit card statement with the purchase (although small) is that worth a pursuing an appeal question.0 -
Its worth a complaint to the store manager or head office
Attaching proof of patronage to the appeal may be worthwhile

Probably not for appeal but that isn't PLAN A anyway. Not the way to get PCNs cancelled.Calzor_Suzay said:
