Octopus Export Issue
My account is in a lot of credit so I requested some of it back but got this response from Octopus: Unfortunately due to an issue with export accounts we are not able to issue refunds at the moment.
I have asked them what the issue is, & when will it be sorted but no reply yet.
Does anyone know what this is about? I'm not desperate for the money but it feels like an unsatisfactory reply, especially as it is my money sat there with a direct debit for more money about to go in!

Change your direct debit. Can be done online. I've currently got mine set at £5. Can't help with the export question.

I think it's too late for this one as it's due out tomorrow, but I'll do it after that, especially if they don't sort it quickly! Thank you for this great idea!Slinky said:Change your direct debit. Can be done online. I've currently got mine set at £5. Can't help with the export question.1 -
I agree that the response is hardly satisfactory, which unfortunately seems to be fairly symptomatic of Octopus at the moment. To be fair to Octopus they do seem to be good at sorting this kind of issue out, just not very good at telling you what they're doing at the moment.Dannii75 said:My account is in a lot of credit so I requested some of it back but got this response from Octopus: Unfortunately due to an issue with export accounts we are not able to issue refunds at the moment.I have asked them what the issue is, & when will it be sorted but no reply yet.Does anyone know what this is about? I can't answer your question but a suggestion would be that you change to paying the full amount monthly which will reduce or stop credit building up on the account which you can't easily access. That way you should at least get a few free months until you get your account down to zero, sort of like incrementally getting the refund. If it doesn't work for you longer term for whatever reason you can always switch back to a fixed DD at any time.
