Power cut compensation
borderline
A couple of weeks ago in my street we had an unplanned power cut, it lasted for about 4 hours. Power came back but 3 days later again another power cut, this time from about midday until 7:30 pm when the power came back for about half an hour to go off again until about 3:30 am . The following day again from about 2:30 am until 6 am
when I asked them they said I was not entitled to compensation because I hadn't been without power for more than 12 hours in a row , is that right even if we only got power back for less than an hour before being cut off again?
They said the fault was a fuse cause by a a 3rd party.
They also marked it as fixed when in fact we lost power again and we have to report it

Compensation entitlement will be documented somewhere and I suspect the response is accurate. Each outage was less thant the period required to generate an entitlement to compensation.

They're partially right. Depending on the size of the power cut (how many customers are off), there is no compensation for either the first 12 or first 24 hours of any interruption. The clock starts again every time the power comes back on.borderline said:

There is another line in the documents that might be useful for you though - compensation for multiple interruptions.
Where you have 4 or more power cuts, each of which lasts at least 3 hours, in a year (and a year counts from 1 April to 31 March), I think there's a requirement for compensation.0 -
What kind of compensation are you wanting? Was frozen food defrosted? did you miss your favourite TV programme ?.Klinny said:I had this same issue and I am also struggling for compensation. Please keep us updates on the issue.
