    If you are going there to climb mountains you may need some specialist cover anyway.

    Above is your policy book, Travel starts on page 60.

    They cover trekking/hiking up to 4,000m if DIY, up to 6,000m if a professionally organised and not above 6,000m.

    Mount Kailash is 6,600m so it depends how far up you are going etc.

    I was just looking at something else and came across this.....

    https://www.wondersoftibet.com/about-tibet/altitude/

    "One of the main attractions of Ngari is the sacred Mount Kailash 6,638m/ 21,778 ft high. Every year thousands of pilgrims challenge themselves walking the kora or circumlocution route around Kailash, with the highest point of the trek reaching 5,640 meters/ 18,000 ft."

    ======================

    How wonderful for you both.

    I can't do it, as I have a pacemaker and wouldn't be able to get insurance for that high altitude. Plus I have never been fit enough to do a big trek.

    I have had at the back of my mind perhaps trying to visit a neighbouring area to Tibet, which might have lower altitudes than Tibet itself. (My policy covers up to a max of 3,000 meters.)

    Incidentally, I managed that altitude-restriction issue perfectly this year in India: Kinnaur District. The beautiful village of Kalpa is at 2,950 meters and one has splendid views of Kinner-Kailash Mountain. (Photos below.)

    I wish you both a wonderful trip. I shall be with you in spirit.

    Amazing views! I’ve had a really positive experience with geico Insurance so far. They offer good coverage and their customer service has been excellent. It’s reassuring to have a reliable company that provides comprehensive support when you need it.
