Entitled to a full refund or not

Hey quick question. If I purchased an iron off Tefal for £250 9 weeks ago and it constantly spits out dirty brown water on my clothes and there’s a crack on the base (not where water comes from) should I demand a full refund? I believe this is not fit for purpose as cheaply made. I had another tefal iron (generator) for 7 years until I gave it away to a family member and never had an issue.
Tefal wants to get a courier to collect mine. Keep for minimum 10 days to repair. Not happy with this. They will give me a ‘basic’ iron to use for the duration.

You don't have the right to a full refund yet as you've had the product for over 30 days. You need to give Tefal the opportunity to repair/replace the item. It sounds very fair that Tefal are giving you a basic iron to use whilst yours is in for repair.I assume this crack on the base was not there when you purchased the item 9 weeks ago. Perhaps something happened to it which is responsible for the crack and also the dirty brown water?

No, as you don't have a legal right to one as has been explained above.losvos said:Hey quick question. You can ask the nicely for a refund and who knows, they might surprise you!
I assume you bought the iron direct from Tefal? If not then your legal rights are against whoever you bought it from.1 -
Sorry can’t work our how to reply individually.
I did not contact them 9 weeks ago as it’s only just started to spit out dirty water and while inspecting the iron I noted the crack. I suppose I’ll have to go with the repair and see what happens. Thank you all 0 -
The problem you will have is trying to prove the fault was there when you bought it - and not something that has happened whilst in your possession - if you get a free repair I'd take that as a win.losvos said:Sorry can’t work our how to reply individually.
