Windscreen claims

I had a chip repaired in April through my insurance but it has now got worse as the resin has become loose and has a hairline crack which isn’t repairable. Will this be the same insurance claim as it was only one original damage.

3 months later?
is this the exact same chip0 -
Does it matter if they call it one claim or two? On my Churchill policy windscreen claims don't affect no claims discount.

Yes exact spot. The repair resin has become loose and now I can see a hairline crack each side of it about 3 inches acrosscw8825 said:3 months later?

No but they are disclosable as a claim when it comes to renewing. Don’t mind paying the excess for a new windscreen but don’t want 2 claims showing. My insurance is due for renewal in a month and I’m unlikely to stay with same insurance company.Mark_d said:Does it matter if they call it one claim or two? But they still have to be declared when getting other quotes and so will impact if its 1 or 2 claims.Mark_d said:Does it matter if they call it one claim or two? On my Churchill policy windscreen claims don't affect no claims discount.1 -
Why would it be an insurance claim at all? It seems the original repair was defective and should be rectified.0

That was exactly the OP's question... obviously needs to be looked at to understand what's gone wrong as well as a proper timeline to understand how its gone from loose fix to cracked windowCar_54 said:Why would it be an insurance claim at all? When we had a chip repaired the auto windscreens guy confirmed that this was covered - if the repair failed then it would be a windscreen replacement and the cost of the repair would be offset against the cost of the new windscreen. Worth speaking to whoever did the repair...
