Hi

I had a credit card I took £2k cash 2018 I paid every month until June 2021

I was under the impression I was In breathing space but I never received any notice of this

I also never received a default notice and for the past 3 years I’ve not paid and heard nothing

I know my credit file did have a default on it which I have a screenshot of

What I would like to know is, I received a letter beginning of July saying it had be passed on or brought by a credit agency

I’m 3 years in to the 6  - But having looked at my payment history it says

I paid until January 2022 them 4 nonpayment then default ( I know that’s not true )

Also it says I opened the credit account 2003 ( I know that’s not true )
So the default dates is also wrong

Basically I want to know my options and the best way to deal with this

I have since 2021 been applying for credit cards with a good success rate

My current debt is 9% of my available credit £12.700

1) If I just sit it out and don’t do anything what’s the worst they can do ? My understanding is CCJ

2) Go for the right off due to my illness which will stay the same as it has for the last 3 years may get worse

3) After (2) offer £1 a month

4) After (2) (3’ try final settlement

This was my thought pattern at first ( the above )

Now since this my credit file - The default on it has disappeared ( so in 3 weeks this has happened )
The card company even give me 100% approval on all of their cards to the extent of just allowing them to hard search

Basically if I do absolutely nothing my understanding is

My credit file can’t get any worse its not bad now as I’ve paid on time each month depending on which card I’ve used

I have spoken to CAB I know my financial situation show I can’t afford to pay anything back
I do receive PIP ( wrote off Adult Care Cost )

I don’t believe they would have any written paperwork of my CCA

I open the card in 1998 I physically went in to the bank to apply for it

So if I don’t do anything my understanding is

Credit file can’t get any worse than 4 years ago as my default has disappeared

They could take me to court but financial I own nothing ( CCJ ) £2500 is the amount

I rent for the local authority I have nothing asset wise

I think that’s it I’ll add more if I think of it
