LCD TV Advice sought

Hello all

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas.

I am looking to buy a LCD TV in January, as I have some bonus coming and my crt is on the way out.

Who make the best screens?
What is 1080i and 1080p and the difference between them?

I want 37"+ HD ready digital for a max. £600ish, what do you suggest?

Cheers
I have a cunning plan!
Proud to be dealing with my debts.

Going and look in some shops, find a model that suits your requirements, that you like the look\style of etc. Then return home and use the 'search this forum' button here: http://www.avforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=155 and see what everyone else has to say about the chosen model.

If you like what you read, buy tv and enjoy ;)

It could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.
  • Thanks looks like lots of reading there.

    Edit: My head hurts now.

IMHO, £600 would be better spent on a 32 like the Pansonic tx32lxd70 which is excellent. For a good 37, you'll need to raid the piggy-bank and look at plasma too.
  • What he said above a cheap LCD will be a big disappointment.
Nothing to see here, move along.
