Smart Meter national supplier database

Options
The national supplier database, Central Online Enquiry Service (ECOES) seems to be so incompetent I do not understand haw they are still operating.

I had smart meters fitted for the first time 11 weeks ago and ECOES still has not updated the electricity meter. My supplier confirms they sent all the information and I have chased and checked with them repeatedly. I have even sent photographs for cross checking.

I can find no mechanism for holding ECOES to account.

Any suggestions would be welcomed.

  • I think the target is something like 8 - 10 weeks at the best of times, so I'm not sure your 11 weeks counts for much.

You neither a supplier nor a distributor. You need to address the query through the correct channel.

What exactly is the problem you're experiencing?  Do you have access to ECOES and can see that your meter details re incorrect?  Do you know that ECOES is now EES?

This is a useful thread. I'm having an issue which a lot of people had on an old thread (which led me here) - my supplier is adamant that the database is correct, but quotes/potential suppliers insist it is wrong, and I'm unable to switch.

Thanks @Mark_d for confirming the name change, that will be helpful.

Who generally does have access to the EES? Is there a recommended way to contact them?

Licenced energy suppliers, distribution network operators, gas transporters and metering equipment managers.

You have no ability to contact them.
