MBNA when do they actually take the Direct Deibit, please?

Does MBNA take the direct debit on the day the statement says the payment is due, or do they take it a few days earlier please?

I don't have an MBNA card, and so I couldn't get through to them to ask.

I don't know about MNBA specifically but their stablemates Lloyds and Halifax both take them on the day the statement is due (allowing for weekends and bank holidays where it's the next working day). This is the same as all the credit cards I have.

In my experience, they collect on the due date.

I've just checked a couple of months' MBNA statements against the statements for the current account from which they collect. The payment due date matches the date on which they say they'll collect and also the date on which the collection was actually made from the current account.
