Smoke alarm mains power

Hello,

So recently I noticed my landing light bulb had blown and my aico ei3016 smoke alarm has lost mains power presumably both at the same time but I cannot be sure of that.

I replaced the lightbulb and that works fine but the smoke alarm green LED light remains off and it's just started beeping because of low battery.

Do I need an electrician to check the wiring as I'm sure the fire alarm runs off the light circuit ( both on the same fuse switch)

The only other explanation is a faulty base which I'm not sure I can do much with.

Have you checked the Fuse Box?
Mines wired in and has it's own fuse switch. If a bulb had blown it could have flipped the switch for the fuse.

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

The fuse box is labelled as "lights + smoke 2nd floor" and it hasn't tripped

Do you have another aico smoke detector in the house?
If so, swap them over. It's very easy to slip them off the base with a small screwdriver
