ebay postage prices wrong?

Just listing a couple of items ad noticed when selecting Royal Mail as the postage option the pre-filled prices seem to be incorrect.

For a 'medium parcel' to 5kg it shows Tracked 48 as £6.59  but Tracked 24 is only £5.89

I always book directly on the royal mail site. Is Tracked 24 actually cheaper than 48 if I use ebay/packlink for postage?
If it is I will list them all as Tracked 24 (with free postage) as that might drum up a few more sales

Royal Mail prices April 2024. eBay/Packlink I believe is ending soon on eBay and a better price structure for Royal Mail eBay.

Packlink is not disappearing - just the way you access it.

Now everything appears on one page, RM & couriers. If you click one of the couriers you will see just under the name it says 'Powered by Packlink'.

However, the quickest way to get the address/email/phone details is to use the drop-down next to your listing and select 'print invoices and more'. All you need is there. Also, people who closed old PayPal accounts have had payment issues.

    MIne doesn't show that.

Doing a test run on a small parcel up to 5KG I get the £6.59 and the tracked 24 at £7.59 however if I go onto RM I cannot buy either RM48 or RM 24 as a small parcel up to 5kg. Instead I have to buy it  as a medium parcel which as shown above would cost me £7.79 for RM 48 and £8.79 for RM24.

This will continue happening, as ebay thinks it is in the USA. The chat customer service team said it was because you get charged twice for bigger distances. I mean seriously. The sender address does not change. What a scam.

Regulars please note this is a zombie thread.

Ebay UK does not think it is in the UK - you are replying to a thread that is almost a year old and pre dates ebay SD for private sellers.

At the point this was written ebay labels weren't compulsory so a solution would have been to have used RM rather than ebay labels anyway. Ebay US also does not have RM, the postal system in the US is completely different to that in the UK so cannot be carried across.

Incidentally there is a lot of strange info, urban myth type stuff being bandied around by those who don't understand ebay, it is best to try and work out how ebay works to better understand when something is glitching or just wrong rather than believe ill informed rumours and mis understandings.
