Hi guys,
My renewal is up 50%.
I’ve used price comparison sites which has brought it down somewhat, but it’s still significantly more than last year.
does anyone have any reccomendations on how to try?
thanks

All insurance prices are up,
Use the comparison sites and then see what cashback is available from the likes of Topcashback, they have their own comparison site too.0 -
Claims and operating costs continue to increase and after a few years of underwriting losses insurers are having to step up the prices, especially those selling budget policies who had the thinnest margins to start with.
Just shop around and remember to check the likes of Aviva and DL who dont sell via aggregators. Even having made a claim our M&S (Aviva) policy only went up 25% so fairly happy with that outcome and the next best price is 2x as much so obvious choice.0 -
Think I read recently that DL are now on comparison sites0

Direct Line Group have been on aggregators for over a decade via Churchill, Privilege, Tesco (back when it was underwritten by them) etc, they used to be underwritten by Churchill, Direct Line and UK Insurance respectively however like many insurers DLG went through a rationalisation process and now all their brands and products are underwritten by UK Insurance.XRS200 said:Think I read recently that DL are now on comparison sites
More recently UK Insurance/DLG launched Darwin and they too are on the aggregators. The Direct Line brand itself remains off the aggregators because of their fundamental stance of "cutting out the middle man" is really not compatible with having a middleman plus they can still get business in via that channel via their other brands.0 -

Maybe only motor meantime0

Yes, motor only, and new products (although bearing the Direct Line brand for the first time) designed not to compete with the Direct Line products available without aggregators.XRS200 said:

Odd then that they are not yet on them... it'd be a tiny amount of work to turn them on and would be surprised you'd make the announcement before having negotiated terms with at least one.XRS200 said:
