Dispute over the deposit for our student house

Options
We've just been given back the final numbers for how much of our student deposit we got back from the landlord.  We paid for a cleaner, after being told it would be about £50/60 each for one, and after discussions we booked it, told our landlord to take it out of our deposits equally, and left it at that.  Now, upon getting back how much they're taking out of the deposit, it's actually £95 each which is higher than we thought it would be.  We asked our landlord, and they're saying to take it up with the cleaner.  The cleaner didn't send us an invoice or anything in writing as to how much the final cost would be, and we've been led to believe a much lower price than we thought.  Do we have a leg to stand on here in getting our money back?  Even though it's only £35 each, I feel as though we've been duped into paying more than we should've.

Maybe the place took longer to clean than they originally expected. You should have got a quote in advance. Now all you can do is query this with the cleaner and go from there.
