I was recently looking at my credit rating on another site and was dismayed to find that that it stated I had missed installmentnts for paying water bill. A coulple of years ago I set up a repayment plan with Affinity water this was done over the phone, last year I set up the plan on line and continued to pay a monthly payment. However when I checked my credit scoring some months later, it stated I had missed payments between Feb to June. I raised the issue with Affinity and they stated as I had not spoken to one of their reps back in Jan-Feb to review a payment plan. I explained I had done this online and trere was no issue as to the amount agreed as proposed by Affinitys online payment portal. After raising the issue with Affinity they stated all future payments would be credited as paid. But previous payments from Feb -June would still be be marked as unpaid. There has been no difference in the amount paid each month.
When I rasised the issue with another credit scoring agency they still have the payments maked as unpaid.
What I cannot understand is if you've paid a bill and have proof of payment how can it me stated that it's unpaid.

Credit reference agencies simply report what has been notified to them but sometimes there can be a lag. You need to agree the situation with Affinity Water and ask them to correct the data with the different credit reference agencies. i'm not sure how far back in time data can be corrected, but the credit reference agencies should be able to tell you.

Were you repaying in the plan to clear an outstanding debt? Were you told to review it annually?
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

As soon as I saw they were recording my payment plan as 'late payments', I paid off my bill in full (as I will now be doing in the future). I have been paying my water in the same way for over 20 years, but they have only recently made this change - without informing me. I am furious.0
