Hi all, it's me again.Around 10 days ago I received a phonecall from DCB Legal and they caught me whilst I was super busy. Stupidly I fumbled and mentioned that I entered the wrong code on the app. It's only afterwards that I realised, I disclosed this information. I felt under pressure and quite worried during the phonecall to be honest. They said they would reduce the fine amount to £170, or we can proceed in taking this court. They have since emailed saying the same thing. I have not agreed to anything, but just wondering should I respond to their email? Also I am thinking to just ask for a reduced fine and get this over with. I just cannot deal with the stress of this.0

That's exactly why they rung you. The whole point of the exercise is to stress you out.
So what if you entered the wrong code? How does that entitle them to any money? They're not the police and they want money, not to catch you out in some way.
What exactly are you scared about? It's just paperwork at the end of the day. Adult life is death, taxes AND bureaucracy 😀
Remember they discontinue 99% of single ticket claims. If you really did end up outside a court room remember you can simply write them a cheque there and it'll be settled if you really wanted. You always have that option.1 -

You won't be doing that.

Thank you both! You are right - I think they way that they put themselves across to the world, makes them seem as though they have authority, but of course they don't

If you are not past mediation stage read the links in the first 12 steps. Offer NOTHING.
Or play this fun game on the phone to the Mediator if you like:
