Can I still get a refund on a different card as the card I purchased with had to be blocked

I made in-store purchases with my bank Mastercard last week, since then I have been a victim of fraud so my bank had to block my Mastercard and send me a new one. The items I purchased I need to return to store as they were the incorrect size. Can I still get a return to the same bank account but it will be a different card obviously. I really don’t want a store voucher or store gift card.
what are my rights?

All the shop need to do is process the refund to the old card. Credits are not authorised by banks, so it will go to a internal account & then be moved to your account.

These are items bought in a shop which were the 'incorrect' size.

If it was a change of mind, such as it is marked as size 6 and is in that range but you don't like the fit when you tried it on, you have no statutory rights, only the shop's own policy. So if their clearly stated policy is exchange or store credit for returns, that is all you are entitled to.

If the goods are faulty, such as they are marked as 'small' but clearly are not, you have a claim under the Consumer Rights Act regardless of any policies of the shop.
CRA says the refund should normally be to the same source as the purchase unless something else is agreed between consumer and seller. So you could ask them to refund to a different card but they don't have to.
Refunds at point of sale will almost always be programmed to refund either to the card paid with, and often you have to insert that card into the reader, or to a gift card/credit note, no other options.
As @born_again says, the refund would go back to your account even if you currently use a different card.

I don't know what would happen if you are asked to insert your card but it is different from the payment card. I believe that often any card is acceptable, the card is just to establish an audit trail for the refund, but the actual refund payment goes to the account of the payment card. Others might have better advice?

If it's the wrong size then presumably they'll just give you the right size and so no need to touch cards etc.

If you are just returning it because you dont like it etc then as above, refunds aren't authorised so cancelling the card will make no difference and the funds will still go back to the account with the store using the old details.
