Buying a car with altered VIN

keep an eye on it, it might be worth a £320 bid as a non-runner (remember it was stolen and recovered, they could have seized the engine and abandoned it somewhere), which will cost you around £600 with fees and delivery.Your keys will fit the locks, but probably won't start it, so it will need a mobile locksmith to recode it.Then change the oil & filter, get it MOT'd and drive it.If you are lucky, you get a car for £1000 or so.If unlucky, you are down a few hundred. If you can make it look presentable, get some datestamped photos, then if it is stolen again you will get around 75% of the sum you got last time again- a repaired CAT-N is worth 75% of a non write-off.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
