Obtaining car insurance quote when an address is going to change just after buying and insuring car

My son has just completed the second year of his degree and secured a Year in Industry Placement as part of his degree course which he will undertake for 12 months before returning to University for his final year.  In order to undertake the placement he needs to move and he will need a car, which he doesn’t currently have.  We have just bought a car which will be picked up next week, and he will be moving to his placement location in 3 weeks (we are awaiting the tenancy agreement for his accommodation); therefore in terms of obtaining the car insurance quote even though he isn’t moving for 3 weeks, the address he is going to is where he will be for the overwhelming majority of the next 12 months.  So what address do we put when obtaining the quote - presumably if we put the placement location he will still be insured for the 3 weeks prior to that while he is still at ‘home’?

He need to use the current address then change it when he moves.
Can you imagine the issue if he has an claim in the first week and have given an address he's never lived at.

    IMO
If he is going to be at the new address for the majority of the year I would quote on that address then call and explain before buying.

Alternatively you could get temp cover until he l moves which then avoids any change of address admin fee

See if you can find a policy with a low or zero admin fee for policy changes.  Some insurers charge far too much.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.
