Used the above knowing the links to MSE and thought I was getting the best deal. Search was 23 days before renewal. 10 days later got offers of £40 less. Won't be using Money supermarket again

No comparison site is guaranteed to be the cheapest.
No particular date before renewal is guaranteed to be the cheapest.
Being associated with MSE (by which you mean owned by the same people I guess) does not guarantee it is the cheapest.
If you stop using a comparison site because the quote it happened to give you on one occasion wasn't the cheapest of all time, you will soon run out of comparison sites.0 -
Not just owned by the same people, Money Supermarket (aka Mony Group Financial Limited) owns the site. It's not a parallel structure where two companies happen to have the same group of shareholders.BarelySentientAI said:Being associated with MSE (by which you mean owned by the same people I guess) does not guarantee it is the cheapest.0 -
The group owns MSE and owns the Money Supermarket comparison site.DullGreyGuy said:

At least according to the press releases when the purchase happened, MSE is not a subsidiary of the Money Supermarket comparison website.0 -
Your right, they use crappy language
The MSE site is MoneySavingExpert.com Limited
MSM site is MoneySuperMarket.com Limited
Both are owned by Mony Group Financial Limited which in turn is owned by Mony Group Financial Holdings Limited which is owned by Mony Group PLC
Didnt realise they owned Quidco either
