Anglian - everest

A week ago in July we decided to look into getting some new windows so as long as getting some quotes from local companies I thought I would also try Anglian and Everest. I rang Everest (not knowing the6 went bust) and arranged for someone to come around and take a look . I then rang Anglian and was told as I have an appointment with Everest i can’t get an appointment with them .
I then googled and found out that Everest had stop trading and Anglian took on Everest . The man from Everest turned up and said he was from Everest not Anglian and they were still trading and that Anglian are a different company .
So questions Are Everest still trading if not how can they still try and sell new windows .
if Anglian own Everest now but they are still running them as independent companies surely under completion rules Anglian can’t say sorry and push new customers Everests way.

Apologies for typo above in first line, I can’t work out how to edit0

Suggest you contact local independent suppliers who employ their own fitters.
And check out review sites!2 -

HiUkMicky.I guess it must be 10 years ago that I needed a couple of replacement windows - one a wide 3-section bay, and the other a large bedroom window.Went through the local list, and chose three, and then - for curiosity - also called a 'National', probably Anglian, just to see if they'd 'changed'.They hadn't.The exact same process as when I'd requested a quote a good ten+ years before then, for our previous house; partner must be present, an-hour-plus long spiel about why their windows are superior, a final extraction of a quote, which - of course - was silly high. Then - and I couldn't actually believe it - the exact evening call to his 'manager', because this was 'such a lovely couple' (the only thing he got right...), and he 'really wanted to help us out'.It was astonishing. Jaw-dropping. We allowed this guy in with the best intentions, and there he was putting on a performance of pure and unadulterated deceit.I insisted he cut to the chase, and the price tumbled - but was still double that of the local ones.Of the three well-regarded 'locals', the windows were of similar (very good) quality, near-identical prices, and no hard sell whatsoever; two were actually too laid-back, and I was actually wanting some persuasion to make me choose them over the others. One of my main concerns was the appearance of the new windows, and how they'd best suit our house, as I really struggled with this; two were completely non-committal - "Well, whatever you like..." - but the third took some proper time to explain what he thought would work. And it did - he got the job.Ten-odd years later, they are literally as good as new, both in looks and operation. You've read this far?! Cool - the point is, do NOT entertain the 'Nationals' for a nanosecond, unless you like being entertained and lied to.4

And to directly answer your question, OP, there's nothing in competition law that says a company is forced to give you quotes from multiple brands that it owns.0

"Do you really think I want a quote from you lot when I'm already having windows replaced..."
