On the other hand, when my Dad died, I had to deal with those 2 as well and my experience was the polar opposite.MartinStroudUK said:
My experience of Lloyds and Nationwide - Nationwide - brilliant, easy - gave them the Grant of Probate Certificate and in 48 hours we were paid out. Gave it to Lloyds and so far its been 10 working days, they just milk it oh and could they be earning interest? Not so great a bank!
I dealt only with Lloyds bereavement team. Everything was handled very sympathetically and efficiently, either by phone or online electronically.
Nationwide, on the other hand, were possibly the most awkward and inept outfit that I've ever dealt with.
Insisted on (multiple, as it turned out) branch visits, unnecessary delays caused by repeated requests for information that they'd already been given...etc etc.
