Hello
SAP = (Armed Forces) Service Attributable Pension
I am aware both war pension & SAP are disregarded for housing benefit &
council tax, subject to local authority
discretion, and war pension being disregarded for Universal Credit, but can't find anything to indicate SAP being disregarded for UC.
I would be most grateful if anyone could tell me if SAP like a War Pension is disregarded when working out UC entitlement.
Thanks

Occupational pensions H5010 Income from occupational pension schemes should be taken fully into account1 . This includes any payment (other than a payment ordered by a court or made in settlement of a claim) made by or on behalf of a former employer on account of early retirement on grounds of ill health or disability2 .
Note: A non-taxable attributable Service Invalidity Pension (SIP) or a Service Attributable Pension (SAP) is a pension awarded to members of the armed forces who are discharged on medical grounds as a result of illness or injury attributed to service. SAPs and non-taxable attributable SIPs are not occupational pensions and are not taken into account. Armed Forces Pensions are based on years of service and are occupational pensions. They should be taken into account as explained at ADM H5011 et seq.
