Nationwide Flex Account charging for foreign money transactions or not?

I've had a Nationwide Flex account(bog standard with no fees) for years and remember one of it's benefits was there were no fees for international money transactions. In other words if I used my debit card to buy something in dollars, will I be charged a fee? Is this still the case because a friend claims that it is now charging?

I think it was the credit card that was popular foreign use - it appears the Member, Select, Nationwide, Classic and Gold credit cards are fee free (except for ATM's)

It appears only the Flex Plus Current account is fee free using the debit card.

I do have a Flex Plus account but Personally I use Chase debit card as it gives me 1% cashback as well as no charges and good exchange rates.

Yes, you'll be charged a fee. This used to be fee free but it hasn't been for years.

You can find out all about foreign currency fees at Nationwide here:
    https://www.nationwide.co.uk/help/travel/charges-using-your-card-abroad/

This page can be found quite easily using the search box on the main web page. Put in "foreign fees" or some such phrase to get it as the first hit.

Reading their web site is the best way of finding the answer to most questions.
