    Just another quick update.

    I provided the statements to the solicitor and he has accepted them.   Hopefully I'll be able to buy the house next month.   Thanks for everyones help.

    Good luck, I do hope your purchase is successful.  I gifted each of my kids a small deposit and my daughter is now buying, so I looked at the paper trail - I'd forgotten to include the source, my house sale.  I was also lucky the 'on line' statements were still there but since I've installed Norton anti virus, printer keeps going off line!  Hopefully will be able to print later today and identify the transfers from current accounts to savings and onwards.

    It's good to hear that there is a resolution on this. I don't think it's practical for solicitors to demand evidence of bank accounts that go back beyond the statements that will be available. Surely 7 years is long enough.

    Thankfully we used the same solicitor for selling and buying, even though there was a gap of almost 9 months between, so they had all the knowledge of where we got the funds.
