RCP parking

i am a pensioner and not at all used to paying by app anyway i downloaded from the instructions on the sign in the car park they took payment then sent a receipt ...after receiving a fine for non payment it appears i paid for a parking space in a RCP car park in london and not the one i was which was manchester how can this be possible anyway i have been serve with a fine can anyone help cheers
