Moving to first direct. When to stop the DD?

I can't find an answer anywhere.
I have two 50p DD in place and in due course everything will be transferred, but when can I safely stop them?

Safest bet would be to wait until FD pay you the switch bonus, that way there can be no dispute that you meet/do not meet the criteria. But taking the offer as worded, there's no need to keep the DDs active after the switch completes, just that you need to switch them in the first place. I don't see why you couldn't cancel them after the switch completes (but before the incentive is paid) and still be eligible for the incentive.1

As above, unless a specific date at which eligibility is checked is stated (Santander), I would always leave DDs in place until payment has been made.

This is one reason why annual direct debits are better for switches. You only pay once, can leave it for months until you get the switch bonus, then cancel. https://smalldirectdebit.co.uk/ offers a direct debit for £1 a year1

I couldn't use it because it asked me for the debit card number, but I couldn't find it (and I don't think I ever actually activated it), so I had to go for the "expensive" option which instead asks for the account number.0

For the Barclays one, then 30p DD is great (I used it) but for the Co-op one with the extra £15 monthly then the £1 yearly DD is the best.
