Cinch Service/MOT History Concerns

I purchased a finance car from Cinch on 18/08/23 and recently had my first service and MOT. It failed due to a worn wheel bearing, identified by the mechanic due to a loud noise. However, this noise had been present since purchase and given Cinch have a 6-month MOT and service history, I didn’t think it was a cause of concern. Also, despite Cinch claiming the car was serviced on 06/08/23, there are no previous service stamps in the service book.
The GOV.UK MOT History site shows repeated advisories for worn brake discs on MOTs between 06/01/22 and 06/01/23. The last MOT before my purchase on 22/07/23 had no advisories, yet the same advisory reappeared a year later. It seems unlikely that 11k miles would cause such wear, suggesting Cinch did not address the advisory.
Please can I have advice on where I stand, if anywhere at all. Thank you.

Well it probably didn't have a 6 month MOT when you bought it in August if the last MOT was in January, but I'm not sure you've got much of a claim over 1 months MOT.Services are rarely stamped in the book now, it's all computerized so you'd need to check with a main dealer as to what it's service history is. Cinch should have at least printed it off for you.Did Cinch make any claims that they'd addressed any MOT advisories? Did you check the MOT history before buying? But I think you're likely just going to have to suck this one up and pay for the stuff that's degraded from advisory to failure.2

Advisories are just that, and based solely on the opinion of the tester following a visual inspection.
My car has had some advisories over the last few years for a corroded silencer. Although I'm pretty sure it's condition hasn't improved since the last advisory, it got no mention at the most recent MOT test.
Were you led to believe that Cinch would address advisories from an MOT test done (by whom?) 7 months before you bought it from them?
Now - 10/11 months since you bought it - it's failed on a wheel bearing? I think you'll have to suck that one up yourself.2 -
What make is the car, how old & the mileage?
Advisories, are just that. There is no need for it to be fixed. Had you raised it as a issue at time & told them that you wanted it fixing before purchase you might have a claim. But sounds like you did not so, you will just have to pay for the repair now if it has failed MOT.

Thanks all, I did presume it’s my loss. If anyone has any other advice or opinions, please do carry on the thread as it’s all a learning curve.0
