Returning a lease car - damage report

Does anyone know when returning a lease car with damage (dents, scratches etc), whether you can claim the cost of this on your regular car insurance?

The bill is looking like £1k+ so trying to see what my options are.

Many thanks

No, unless unless you have reported an accident to you insurers and doing so could affect your future premiums if the damage was your fault.

Multiple minor damages are not covered by regular insurance,

You could get some repaired by a company like ChipsAway.

Final thing to do is haggle with the lease company but it is going to cost YOU one way or another.

One of the issues with leasing a car is it does not belong to you. It should be looked after as you would when borrowing a car from someone.
