Webuyanycar - a couple of queries

I'm just wondering if you attend the webuyanycar appointment but don't end up selling the car there and then, is the price still valid? Or would you have to start a new quote and go through the process again?

Reason I'm asking is WBAC have offered more than Evans Halshaw (both online quotes) so I was hoping to go to the WBAC appointment first to see what they'd actually give me once they assessed the car and knocked off however much based on their assessment. If I'm not happy with this then I'd like to try EH, however I'm worried if EH then offer a lower figure than I got from WBAC, have I missed my opportunity with WBAC?

I'm aware that EH say they'll beat WBAC (although I've read a couple of stories online suggesting that sometimes they won't so I'm a little sceptical) but I'm wondering how to you prove the true WBAC to EH. When you go to the WBAC appointment do they give you a written offer that you could then take to EH? The online price wouldn't be any good as the car wouldn't have been fully assessed by WBAC - although I know I can add damage etc to WBAC online, I'm sure they'll still find more at the actual appointment and reduce further.

You can ask for a written offer and some time to think about it but WBAC will probably resist and push you to sell on the spot.  They'll almost certainly allow you to book another appointment and go through it again but by that point they'll know they made the better offer and you're more desperate so will drop further.

You're probably best taking the online offer from WBAC to EH first and see what they say. They may negotiate up whilst WBAC will only negotiate down.

It's not unusual for WBAC to up their offer over time.

In order to tempt you in at least. If you get quote and then don't book an appointment you'll often seen an update with a increased offer.

I'm not convinced that if you visit them, leave and return that they'll do anything but drop the offer knowing that you don't have any better options. If the buyer has any incentives it'll be to drop the price as low as possible once you get there.

    What variance is there ?
Go to WBAC and don’t t sell to them unless they, as a minimum, meet the EH offer.

Thanks. I suspected that at the appointment the actual price they offer after assessment will only be valid there and then (whereas the online quote is valid for a few days I think).

If both cars were in as new condition, EH is £400 less although EH doesn't let you add details of damage. Adding the damage (alloy wheel scuffs and a small dent) to WBAC the EH price is £100 less than WBAC. I've been over the car looking for all damage but based on what I've read I'd not be surprised if WBAC found other things and reduced further.

Last time I sold at WBAC they gave me a few days - possibly 5. I hadn't put in the parcel shelf, didn't have it to hand, but knew where it was.

He specified a date and time the offer would be valid, and told me how many additional miles I was allowed to do.

When I returned the other member of staff never even looked at the car, simply completed the paperwork at the agreed price without the parcel shelf deduction.
