Being an existing BG customer I changed to this tariff for our EV 12.6.24. I then noticed on BG app that I was being charged same rate 24/7. Since then I have made numerous calls and emails and am still not on correct tariff. They say they have escalated it.

Sounds like you are having the same issue as me. If you look on your meter there is the import total. If you delve in a bit further you can find the time of use counters which record peak/ off peak. My off peak failed to update and I need a new meter. My tale of woe is here. It took 5 months to complete successfully via the ombudsman. I emailed (Removed by Forum Team). it gets passed onto the executive team.

@Marksfish thanks for your response. I’ve read your tale of woe. It’s all a bit complicated for me, I’m unsure how to read metres in great detail etc.
we fed what should be the correct tariff (with the reduced 12-5am rate) into my sons podpoint account and noticed there was a discrepancy between his podpoint app and my BG app so that’s when we sat and worked it out. I’m now six weeks in and just being told they are ‘looking into it’
It is stressing me out as I’m running big bills up mid summer ! I will email the address you gave me, I really hope I get some resolve.

Sorry, i've been  away. This Octopus page gives a detailed way to ready your meter. I hand Landis & Gyr installed by BG. You should have a Time of Use counter you can access, it could be this that isn't reading correctly.

Hugo is your friend as you can highlight the off peak hours and it will total usage for that period, which you can screenshot. I also signed up for https://data.n3rgy.com/consume as you can download a spreadsheet of your half hourly data.

@Marksfish thank you. I’ll look into these. BG actually called me today to say they are working on a fix as there are a number of customers affected. Also, my son uses the podpoint app which has an accurate history of when he’s charged, KW, spend (based on what the EV tariff was advertised as), so this should help too. I have emails from BG assuring that the discrepancy will be backdated so fingers crossed !

Ooh, I wasn't aware of that 2nd limit as it is never likely to affect me!! Will have to have her take a good look at what is going on. Takes away the incentive of her getting another job until the new tax year!
