Should I switch to Vodaphone broadband from Sky (Open reach)?

Hello all
Hoping for some advice as very confused.
We have had loads of issues with the local open reach who supply our broadband /WiFi via Sky as we use Sky for ALL our TV, broadband, WIFI, landlines, Mobile.
However the amount of times openreach have had issues and we loose connection has been too many. For instance we have had no broadband for 1 week now due to a technical issue. So we thought we would move to Vodafone for our broadband as they also apparently have a broadband back up if any issues. They assured me they don't use openreach for any of their broadband but I don't think that's true. So what's the point in me moving to Vodafone if they still use openreach, so if like now, openreach is down, it would still affect me if vodaphone use openreach?
Also I have heard that vodaphone WiFi can have issues connecting with the sky Q box?
Really hoping for some advice please.

Is it possible to get some kind of back up WIFI for my home so when openreach fail I can still connect to WIFI for my Sky tv apps and other devices for my home ie my wife's work from home laptop etc? Is so what's the best most powerful? I know vidaphone use a 4g back up WIFI dongle so can't I do something similar rather than switch to Vodaphone and get loads of potential issues with connecting my Sky Q box with Vodaphones WIFI?

Is you broadband currently over the phone line or full fibre?
If it's an infrastructure problem on that phone line or at the exchange/cabinet then moving ISPs that use the same cables won't solve your issue as all providers will be using Openreach.
If you move to full fibre from a phone line service you will use the cabling that has been installed locally, it could be Openreach, CityFibre or others depending on where you are but that should solve you issues.

On the face if it Vodafone are lying their *rises off , if they claim they don’t use Openreach for ‘any’ of their broadband, they probably rely on OR for 90% of their broadband customers ( that’s being generous on guesstimating that 10% of Vodafone customers are on City Fibre, it’s probably less than that ) .
It’s possible that what they mean is in your area , City Fibre is available and VF use City Fibre connections if both CF and Openreach are available….you can check yourself if you have CF by entering your postcode in their website , if you don’t have CF available then Vodafone are telling you lies , pure and simple, if you don’t have CF , then VF will use Openreach , in other words the same as Sky .
As far as having a 4G mobile back up , that is a mobile service that kicks in if it detects the landline service is down , if you have a good mobile signal it may be OK , it you don’t then it won’t be .
FWIW , if you recon your broadband is unreliable ( because of Openreach ) there are onerous penalties for lack of service, like £10 a day , every day you have no service , are you getting this compensation ? , the other thing , and I’m not saying it’s not Openreach, but if Sky had an issue ( nothing to do with Openreach ) they wouldn’t tell you that , they would deflect the blame , and anyway , you have no ‘contract’ with Openreach, you don’t pay them anything , your contract is with Sky ( that’s who you pay ) , if your new car broke down , you wouldn’t accept them saying ‘oh ‘it’s the battery that’s broken and we didn’t make the battery’ , you would say ‘ thats between you and your supplier, fix my car ‘1 -
"For instance we have had no broadband for 1 week now due to a technical issue."
What have Vodafone actually told you? 99% of issues will be of a "technical nature", but in broad terms there is either a fault which affects you and nobody else, or a more generic issue which affects multiple customers. The latter normally cause eruptions on social media so you would know if that's the case. They should be able to articulate the problem to you.
Either way, as mentioned above, you are entitled to compensation from Vodafone for loss of service which will easily fund some 4G/5G data to give you some level of connection
