Package Holiday

We booked a package holiday with a well known holiday company. The package included transfers.
On our return journey to the airport the transfer did not arrive. The holiday company were contacted and could not locate the transport, so advised us to get a taxi, which was reimbursed on our arrival home.
I have requested a payment for the return transfer included in the package which we did not receive.
I have been told I am not entitled to this or anything towards our inconvenience and dissatisfaction.

Any advice from members do I have any rights?

How to you put a price on 'inconvenience and dissatisfaction'?  You're not out of pocket so suspect the most you can hope for is a £25 'go away' payment.

As they paid for a replacement service (the taxi) I don't think you will get very far with asking for a refund no the original price of the transfer service. Realistically, you were inconvenienced by having to wait a short time whilst you organised the taxi. Dissatisfaction has no monetary value. So arguably your quantifiable losses were minimal.

If I were you I would just forget about it and don't let it spoil your (hopefully) good memories of the holiday. It sounds like the transfer vehicle let the holiday company down, and they did the best they could to remedy the situation.

If you do complain you might be offered some vouchers towards a future booking but I would be surprised if you were given anything beyond this.

I had a similar experience and was told that it was an 'either/or' situation - they would either refund the payment for the transfer or pay the taxi fare.  As I had been unable ot contact the holiday or transfer company (it was at 2am) and didn't get a reciept for the taxi I decided not to quibble.

    Sorry, but I’m baffled.

I don’t understand what the inconvenience was? Calling a taxi? You probably got there quicker than a regular transfer and you’ve been fully reimbursed for that.

    I don’t get the drama.

You paid for a return transfer and you had a return transfer so there is nothing to refund (in addition to the taxi which was refunded already).
It is entirely up to the package holiday company how they fulfil the return transfer, whether a minibus doing a round-robin, or taxi, or luxury limousine, or private helicopter charter, or magic flying carpet floating on the wings of angels while a genie gives you a relaxing back massage.

I am not sure where the "inconvenience and dissatisfaction" comes here either.
You were expecting a minibus round robin to turn up at x o'clock to take you to the airport.
You waited a bit - maybe half hour - but the minibus did not turn up, so you contacted the package holiday company who agreed to you booking a taxi (which they reimbursed).
You went to the airport in the taxi - probably more comfortable, more relaxing and arrived at the airport sooner than the round robin minibus would have been.
You arrived at the airport in time to still catch your flight and made the journey home.
The maximum "inconvenience and dissatisfaction" was the half hour or so waiting at the hotel lobby rather than spending that same half hour either in the slower round robin minibus or waiting at the airport.  The flight went at the same time regardless and you were on the flight.

I assume that is the Abercrombie & Kent upgrade :)
