Motability

Hello, my son moved to supported living a few months ago and Motability amended the insurance to an open insurance policy. There are no named drivers now and anyone can drive his vehicle, including myself, barring accident/conviction requirements. He receives 24 hour care though so I’m not sure if that is a condition of the open policy.1

Open insurance policies
These can be helpful to make sure multiple carers can use the vehicle.
You can get them if the customer lives in or is eligible to live in a residential care home, nursing home or school, or needs 24-hour care.
WAVWheelchair Accessible Vehicle customers who need multiple drivers to support their care needs are also eligible.
Drivers must have a full UK or EU driving licence, with no at-fault accidents in the last three years or motoring convictions in the last five years.
Call our insurance provider to talk to them about this.Let's Be Careful Out There0
