CCJ payments

Hi
Question regarding what happens at the end of a CCJ?
been over paying CCJ not by much but at the end of the 6 years the total will not be paid.
What happens? Do I continue to pay? Will they expect the full amount in a lump? Will it go back to court?
I'm unsure what is expected

If you have an agreement to pay off a debt backed by a CCJ, just because it reaches 6 years doesn't stop the debt existing nor would it be statute barred as you have acknowledged it so if you stop paying they will simply enforce it. Just keep paying until it's paid off
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Judgements themselves do not go statute barred, but are covered by sec 24 of the limitation act, in that they are enforceable for 6 years.
If a lender wanted to enforce a judgement older than 6 years, they would need special permission of the court, usually this permission must be sort before the initial 6 years expire, and would only be for a certain short period of time.
Basically if you stop paying after 6 years and 6 months, then there`s nothing much that can be done about it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Ok seems like different opinions on this matter.
One last question the CCJ in question have recently been sending me letters of a reduction payment as a final settlement is this option ok to take?
I owe around £450 they have sent letters recently offering £180 as final payment, the CCJ payments remaining (less than 6 months now) won't cover the £450 but will be less than the £180 offered.
I'm not trying to get out of paying I'm just worried that this doesn't follow the courts payment structure.?0 -

Why do you think they are making you this ever so generous offer now?
Because they know that once the 6 years are up, the debt can no longer be enforced, and this is fact, not opinion. If within the 6-year limit, a CCJ is on the verge of expiration without the debt been recovered, there is a provision to appeal to the court for an extension. Although, to do this the creditor will have to prove clear and plausible reasons why the debt was not recovered within the 6-year period. The evidence must be convincing to the court to get an extension.E.g, if the debtor was out of the country, it is possible to apply for an extension. However, if the CCJ was simply not followed up within the stipulated time frame it is unlikely the court will grant an extension.

Or if a judgement was granted "forthwith" because you failed to respond to the court papers for whatever reason, you can apply to the court for an "instalment order" by using court form N-245 so the debt can be repaid at an affordable amount.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
