Good morning, it's a grey start here but dry..
Yesterday was an ok day, I got some washing dry outside.
Not much going on today apart from visiting a friend to return a little sewing job that she'd asked me to do.
Hi Camelot, nice to see you back, you seem to have been away ages! Glad you had a lovely holiday.
Also good to see Nanny posting, hope your dad is feeling better.
Hope everyone has a good day, thinking of anyone who is poorly or sad.
Take care folks.

Morning allThanks for starting us off ScarletIt's going to be HOT today, summer has arrived at last but I don't think it's going to last for too long thoughOff out food shopping later and that's about it for today. Nothing more exciting going on so will enjoy the sun.Have a good day all x11

Morning
Temperature is due to soar today, then rain (again) tomorrow. I was too warm overnight and had a disturbed sleep - think I also made the mistake of starting a huge summer ‘to do’ list just before bed time so couldn’t sleep for thinking of more things to add.DF is due in hospital at noon for his new knee later so not many of the jobs are going to get done the next few days, The hospital is almost an hour’s drive so lots of too-ing and fro-ing.
Will walk B-dog soon before it gets warm - he’ll be happy snoozing the rest of the day.Stay safe and cool (with apologies to anyone who isn’t due the one day heatwave!)

Good morning all
Thank you for the start @ScarletRibbons
Good to see you back camelot sounds like an amazing holiday
Yesterday was hot, went to the walk and talk. Today is forecast to be even hotter.
Watered the garden late yesterday evening hope everything survives, I've salad bits growing in the greenhouse. Picked my second cucumber this morning.
Take care
If you walk at night no-one will see you cry.12 -
Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet.
Grey and miserable this morning, hoping it cheers up later so I can get some washing done. Yesterday was quite a grey too with showers - at least the garden doesn't need watering. Can't believe I was saying last week that I was looking forward to cooler weather (Vietnam was at least 36 degrees every day with very high humidity). A little warmer and drier here would be nice.
I had to buy a new iron yesterday, the one I had blew the electrics in the kitchen and it's a bit of a faff getting to the circuit breaker. I think it's only the 3rd iron I've had in 40 years, shows I don't use it much!
The little one and I had a good day yesterday finishing up with making a sun catcher at the library. Her Mummy picked her up from there. She was watching my neighbour's DD across the road to see if she up and could she come to play - she's 18! They had a good hours play, not sure who enjoyed it more.
Glad you went to the walk and talk SO, I'm envious of your cucumbers, my plants are only just flowering.
We have an open day at the community garden tomorrow and I have volunteered to make some pancakes and muffins so will get on with that this morning. I may have to have a nap again later, can't seem to get rid of this darned jet lag even though I'm sleeping well at night.
Hope everyone is well, have a good day. Take care. XX11 -
Morning all - thanks for starting us off @Scarlet.It's grey here too, yesterday the rain fell all day, not heavy just persistent. When I cut the grass the other day I was bitten a lot by midges and one especially vicious bit on my inner thigh. I've applied cream and taken an AH, even on a good hot day there's always a down side!I did a bit of online spending yesterday. My favourite Ecco trekking sandals are more than weary and then I also ordered a lovely wrap in anticipation of evenings in the garden. I am laughing at that!Take care everyone.11

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. The sky is blue and the sun is shining here and the weatherman says we can expect temp of 27/28 deg. We go from one extreme to the other and never get chance to acclimatise. Oh well it will be back to normal over the w/e - the rain is due back again accompanied by cooler weather.
Today it's the same old same old with the Friday Tidy on the agenda. If it doesn't get too hot I'll resume the gentle potter of the front wilderness and then sit out back reading.in the sunshine.
Welcome back CAMELOT and ALLIE, you both sounded to have a good trip. But grr to the blooming Covid spoiling your holiday a bit AA.
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies and NAN and AA coping with parent ops and/or recovering. Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
Morning everyone I’m of to do my volunteering soon van should be unloaded before it gets to warm I won’t be doing much else dog has been walked and she will go out again later when it’s a bit cooler although I don’t think we are going to be as warm as the rest of the country. Hubby is going out this afternoon with two of my sons to have a game of golf it will be his first since the lockdown and he has had two new knees in the meantime I will enjoy the peace because tomorrow I will have to listen to all his aches and pains . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10

Morning all, thanks Scarlet, blue sky with some clouds today,it says 17 degrees so not as hot as some of you expect down south, unless it gets higher later.AA hope all goes well for DFs knee op, and glad you had a nice break.Taff, no a cat is not on the cards
, pooch only has to see him sneaking through the garden to go ballistic, and several family members are allergic too
There is a long haired cat who lives near DGS school. He is well known locally and has his own FB page
Izzy had to laugh at the message you got from your family memberHaircut done yesterday, along with lots of catching up - I used to work with his wife, they are off to see their son's graduation today.DH sent someone round to look at the conifers at the back, he'd been round to see 'conifer woman' who surprised him by saying do what you need to do. Still waiting on a price though. It's an early finish for DGS today, might be complicated as the car is in for a problem found when it was serviced, unless DS goes in the van, we'll see.Hope the sun comes out for the Scottish contingent and the cucumbers get growingTake care all.

Morning! Very sunny so far. I've brought the recycle bins back in, made a cup of tea, 'll drink that then shower and decide what to do for the day...All windows and curtains are staying shut that's for sure...Allie, what a pain and lost it again completely? How unfair is that..Fingers crossed for your dads op. Izzy, you make me laugh. I recommend earplugs and remember to nod occasionally..SO, I've been eyeing up my first cucumber ::) camelot, have a nice day tomorrow! Um...Gers...what exactly were you wearing cutting the grass?
Rosy, that's good, I sympathise with tree problems...Take care all, don't be silly in the sun, drink lots, don't fall over...

Hi everyone,
I've been rubbish with the posting this week - end of term chaos combined with several of us having colds is my excuse. I've had several days of childcare as well this week, but next week I've got a free week, L, B and the children are going to visit his father on Barra (B is at the Open golf today and L is flying up to meet him with the children on Sunday), C and C also have next week off and we won't have Nate. I want to get some serious sewing done next week.
Talking about Nate, he took a header off a bench at the playground yesterday, I managed to catch him as he went but he still grazed his forehead, cue guilty Nonna. It's Esben's last day at nursery today, he'll be a schoolboy in September, doesn't life fly past.
I cancelled the cleaner today, I just couldn't face rushing round before she came and with the family away she can do their bathroom and bedrooms next week. I paid her anyway because it was such short notice.
Have a good day.
