MET Parking Charge Final Reminded

Hi guys, I’m really hoping someone could help me soon please.
I promise I have tried my best looking through all the threads including ‘newbies’ for any answers, but unfortunately I really do struggle with a lot of reading and understanding all the information.
I received a letter through the post today titled ‘Parking Charge Final Reminder’ from MET parking services. The place in question was a McDonald’s.

I received a letter through the post today titled ‘Parking Charge Final Reminder’ from MET parking services. The place in question was a McDonald’s.
On this later it states that the contravention was for overstaying at a McDonald’s on the 5th June. Then proceeds to tell me to pay £100.
There is no option to pay a reduced price, and there’s no option to appeal either as I have supposedly missed the time frame to do that.
The problem is though, I haven’t received any prior correspondence from this final reminder regarding this contravention. I’ve not even got photographic evidence of my car being there nor do I even have details about what time I entered and left the car park. This incident was over a month ago now so I don’t even remember myself if I was there let alone what time I entered in and overstayed.
But yh so I’m really honestly not sure what I need to do now. If I complain to them via email will that still be fine seeing as I’m unable to proceed via the usual POPLA appeals process? And also what exactly should I say to them and how do I word it as well? My worry as well is if they come back to me saying that they did send me a notice before…even tho I definitely have not received one before.
I truly am awful with these kinds of things. Usually I just pay the fine but £100 is just ridiculous to be honest and I’m really unhappy about paying that.

The usual reason for people not receiving earlier stuff is that their vehicle's Registration Document(V5c) has an out of date keeper's address on it.
Have you moved home recently and forgotten to update the vehicle's logbook?2 -
Nope. I’ve been living at my current address since 2006!KeithP said:The usual reason for people not receiving earlier stuff is that their vehicle's Registration Document(V5c) has an out of date keeper's address on it.

Do you have any idea of how I can word my complaint to them or know which thread with a response draft that would be best suited for my situation please?0 -
Forget complaining and forget the fact you 'missed the discount'(bribe). Doesn't matter.
Presumably as it is a 'reminder' you are still in time to appeal anyway? Just use the appeal in the NEWBIES thread. There's only one.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I appreciate the reply thank you but unfortunately as I said in my post I’m unable to appeal anymore, as their terms are that I must appeal within 28 days of their first correspondence, of which I have supposedly missed now.Coupon-mad said:Forget complaining and forget the fact you 'missed the discount'(bribe). No - either:
(a) just ignore them unless you get a court claim, or
(b) complain NOT USING A TEMPLATE and tell them you did not receive the PCN and want a copy of it and proof they sent one.
DO NOT SAY YOU WANT TO PAY £60.

Okay thank you so much! Yea I think I’ll pop them an email to complain first and see what they say then go from there☺️🤞🏽Coupon-mad said:No - either:

Hi all, I’m just following up with something new following this post.
After I emailed them to let them know I didn’t receive any prior correspondence to the final reminder notice they emailed me back a couple days ago with the evidence of my ‘offense’, which shows my car reg, entry and exit date and time, as well as the date the supposedly sent the letter (back in June).
But they did offer me the 14 days grace reduction for the fee from £100 to £60.
My question is, is there a chance I can still avoid paying the fee at all? Is there such a thing that makes the fee void because I didn’t get the original letter within a certain period of time?
Any help is much obliged, thank you.0 -
"Is there a chance?"
...
I don't understand the question.

How do I now proceed with this though? I am not sure what I need to do or say back to them.0
