That is normally a sign of a scam.  Advance fee fraud.

Are you dealing with the real one or a spoof one?   The real one is a holding company and has nothing to do with investments.

There was a website for this company https://www.leondracapital.co.uk/ which is no longer available. 99.99% chase it was fake using the details of a real company that has no on line presence, so if you have already given them money you have been scammed please don’t give them any more.
  • I can only assume that I'm dealing with a spoof company, there are about 200 active companies operating from 843 Finchley Road, NW11 8NA. Not bad for a semi detached type house. The website I've got, has the same phone conatct number, but I know for a fact the e- mail is dodgy. Website looks very professional, in fact it looks to perfect. www.leondra-capital.co.uk

It's a legitimate address that appears to be used by the accountancy firm Glazers for its clients. The scammers likely chose to mimic a legitimate company.

    The site however is bogus.

    - Whois reveals the site was registered 3 days ago. The other site mentioned above was registered 24 days ago and was identical in content.
    - The content of the website is vapid and the testimonials are hilarious.
    - Chrome throws an error due to no HTTPS
    - If you search the phone number you will find negative reports of it being an investment scam number.

Website registered on the 15th of this month, the address is the correspondence address for the real company, the telephone number is flagged for making scam calls. 👿

Absolutely any request for payment of a fee to release funds is always a scam. Can’t think of any exceptions ever. If everyone could understand this, it would massively help cut this type of scam/fraud.

But if you read the text on the various pages it’s very basic and generic and some of the English usage is odd. To me it  looks like a scam site.

And no FCA authorisations held as expected.

Website looks very professional, in fact it looks to perfect.
On the other hand, to me the website is a clear scam. It contains spelling mistakes, grammatical errors, American English rather than British English. Some of the paragraphs are just waffle that means nothing.  Plus, all the usual compliance messages are missing.

    www.leondra-capital.co.uk

For the above website using a couple of scam checkers, these results appear:
    https://check.getsafeonline.org/check/www.leondra-capital.co.uk
    https://www.scam-detector.com/validator/leondra-capital-co-uk-review/ttps

The "advance fee fraud" action you described in yesterdays post, makes the above results come as no surprise.

If there is anyone on this forum who thinks that website is legitimate please could they send me £200 for my bus fare and, optionally, another £200 for a copy of my book, "How Not To Get Scammed". Thank you.
